Gerry Anderson
The producer of Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Space:1999 and many other films and television series will be guest of honour at TV21. Over more than 50 years his shows have been dramatic, technically innovative and hugely exciting. His unique style of filmmaking has influenced the imaginations and careers of countless creatives, and his productions continue to be shown around the world to new generations of fans. Shane Rimmer Canadian actor Shane Rimmer was the voice of Scott Tracy in Thunderbirds. He also played numerous parts in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Joe 90, as well as the lead role in Dick Spanner, the stop-motion animated series of the late eighties. He made guest appearances in several of Anderson’s live-action series - UFO, Space:1999 and The Protectors - and played the lead role of Lieutenant Brogan in the 1986 unscreened pilot Space Police. David Graham David has voiced numerous American and English parts in many Gerry Anderson shows, and in Thunderbirds he famously provided the voices for Parker and Brains. He has appeared in countless classic British series during the sixties and seventies including Danger Man, The Saint, Callan, The Tomorrow People and Doctor Who. Matt Zimmerman Matt Zimmerman was the voice behind pilot and boyracer Alan Tracy from Thunderbirds, and took leading roles in the Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6 feature films. As well as numerous other television roles, he has also worked extensively in the theatre. Gary Files Actor, writer and director Gary Files provided the voice of the Hood in Thunderbird 6 and went on to play Captain Magenta in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. He also took one of the lead roles in The Secret Service. He also provided many of the voices for Joe 90 and made a brief live-action appearance as Phil Wade in the first episode of UFO, Identified. Alan Shubrook Modelmaker and artist Alan Shubrook joined the Century 21 special effects team run by Derek Meddings in 1966. He went on to work on Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and UFO, plus countless other TV shows. He recently appeared in the 2008 documentary 'All About Thunderbirds' and has written two books on the special effects of Derek Meddings and TV21. Mike Trim Special effect designer Mike Trim worked on every puppet series from Stingray through to The Scret Service. He also worked as designer on the live-action UFO, as well as all three of Gerry Anderson's sixties feature films (Thunderbirds Are Go, Thunderbird 6 and Doppelganger (a.k.a. Journey to the Far Side of the Sun)). Trim now works as a conceptual designer and freelance illustrator for film and television. John Blundall Sculptor John Blundall worked on Gerry Anderson's early puppet series from Supercar through to Thunderbirds, during which he sculpted a number of very familiar faces: Kyrano, Grandma Tracy and - most famously - Parker. John Lee John Lee made his breakthrough in model effects on Terrahawks. Since then he has worked on numerous films, including the 2004 live action Thunderbirds film. He has credits on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, V for Vendetta, Alien vs Predator, Casino Royale and Moon. Steve Woodcock Along with John Lee, Woodcock made his modelmaking debut on Terrahawks in 1983 before moving on to become a writer, director and producer. Dominic Lavery Lavery joined New Captain Scarlet as concept art director before going on to direct some of the show's most memorable episodes. He has worked on countless Hollywood films, including several Bond films, Bicentennial Man and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Phil Ford The chief script writer on New Captain Scarlet, Phil Ford produced all but 5 of the series 26 episodes. He has been involved in the revitalised Doctor Who franchise, working as head script writer on the spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures, as well penning episodes of Heartbeat, Coronation Street and The Bill. |
