The Grand Appeal raises funds for the Bristol Children's Hospital and St Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Special Care Baby Unit), both of which provide world-class care to babies and children from Bristol and across the UK.
The charity was established in 1995 and raised £12 million through its capital appeal to help build Bristol Children's Hospital, and has since funded a wide range of programmes for patients valued at over £5 million. The charity's special relationship with Wallace and Gromit stems from the fact that founding Aardman Directors Nick Park, Pete Lord and Dave Sproxton are Patrons of the Appeal.
Fanderson will be raising money through a series of events at TV21. To find out more information about the charity and to donate online please visit The Grand Appeal website www.grandappeal.org.uk
"The Grand Appeal is delighted to be the chosen charity for the Fanderson Convention of 2010" commented Lauren Vincent, Community and Events Fundraiser. "We are so thankful for their support which will make such a difference to sick children in Bristol and the South West. We are sure that the convention will be a huge success and encourage all fans of Gerry Anderson's iconic programmes and films to go along for a great weekend and support the Grand Appeal."
